GPS bottle

The GPS bottle is a specialized tracker that monitors plastic pollution in real time by fitting into standard bottles, using GPS to transmit data to a publicly accessible map for tracking and hydrological modeling.

Following and understanding the behavior of the plastic flood is much needed to prepare interventions. Who else could tell more about the movement of the plastic flood than the flood itself? With the GPS bottle, you can be part of it and track it in real time. This plastic tracker is a specially developed technology that fits well into a standard, wide-mouthed commercial plastic bottle. It is a location tracker system equipped with a GPS chip and cellular communication unit using narrowband IoT network. The collected data (location, number of GPS satellites used, battery voltage) are forwarded through the cellular network and can be visualized real time in a publicly accessible map. Well proven technology for plastic pollution monitoring and field validation of hydrological modeling of waste transport.
